Florida League of Cities

Cyber Security for Local Governments Workshop (Jacksonville)

  • Dates: 24 – 24 Jan, 2020
  • Time: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Location: University of North Florida

As seen in recent news reports, local governments are tempting, and often easy, targets for cybercriminals. Local governments’ computer systems store gigabytes of personally identifiable information. The vital services they provide make them vulnerable to insidious ransomware and other attacks that can shut down a local government’s operations (including emergency services), steal citizen data and freeze an entire computer system.

City and county managers and their department heads, elected officials and others interested in local government’s unique cybersecurity challenges, including leaders of public interest and citizen groups, academics and students. (Note: These workshops are non-technical and not intended for IT directors or IT staff.)

There is no charge to attend, but space is limited. Registration will be available soon at cyberflorida.org/gov.
