CS/SB 1670 (Hutson) was significantly amended to only require all employees with access to a local government network to receive training when they begin employment and annually thereafter. The bill also requires all local government IT professionals and persons with access to highly sensitive information to undergo intensive cybersecurity training. Finally, the bill directs the Florida Digital Service to develop the training requirements and specifies that the training may be conducted by the agency, the state cybercrime office, the Department of Law Enforcement, a private sector entity, or an entity of the state university system.
