Analysis reports are based on these responses as well as those of previous years (2016 – 298 responses equaling 73% of cities and 76% of the statewide municipal population; 2015 – 308 responses equaling 75% of cities and 76% of the statewide municipal population; 2014 - 293 responses equaling 71% of cities and 68% of the statewide municipal population; 2013 - 370 responses equaling 90% of cities and 87% of the statewide municipal population; 2012 - 337 responses equaling 82% of cities and 70.5% of the statewide municipal population; 2011 - 317 responses equaling 77% of cities).

The CityStats surveys are filled out by members of each individual municipality. Questions not answered by the member will display blank values. The answers are that of the individual cities and the Florida League of Cities does not verify this information with any other sources. The property tax data is provided by the Florida Department of Revenue's County and Municipal Property Tax Data Tables.
