Ethics (Watch)

SB 1750 (Rodriguez, Jr.) amends current law to prohibit a state public official from voting on matters that would inure to the special gain or loss of certain individuals and entities. The bill would also require state officers to disclose certain conflicts before participating in matters that would inure to their special gain or loss. The bill would allow a prevailing complainant in an action by a respondent to recover costs and fees, even if the underlying complaint was determined by the Ethics Commission to have been filed with malicious intent.
